What to Expect
AP World History covers the major developments that link the themes (see below) of peoples throughout human history.
- Most of the AP World History course covers c. 600 C.E. to the present. (80% of the exam)
- Period 1 (5% of the exam) covers to c. 600 BCE and Period 2 (15% of the exam) covers c. 600 BCE to c. 600 CE.
- No more than 20% of the multiple choice questions will focus solely on European History.
- The exam consists of 55 multiple choice questions, four short answer questions, a document based question, and a long essay.
